The Astra Trike was first introduced at Airventure 2003,
since that time it has undergone a very rigorous flight
program, which has lead some redesigning.
For better ground handling the spring suspension system has
been replaced with shock absorbers. |

To accommodate the HKS twin
cylinder 4 stroke 60 HP engine the engine mount has been
totally re-engineered. The new mount is virtually vibration
free. Rear brakes have replaced the single front brake, the
center pilot has been beefed up, and the wing has been
refined to give better slow and cruise speed performance.
The Astra Trike is manufactured in the American Mid West and
has been developed using British technology. The Astra
Trike is a comfortable, long range touring aircraft that is
also ideal for training.
At present, two engine options are available: the extremely
economical HKS 700E - 60 BHP - 2 cylinder - 4 stroke or the
powerful 4 cylinder- 4 stroke - Rotax 912. The Astra Trike
has been designed and manufactured to comply with the
requirements of BCAR Section S Issue 2, and the Light Sport
Aircraft design category. |
