The Buccaneer SX was first introduced in
1988. In essence, it was a replacement for the venerable
Buccaneer XA. It features a shorter strut braced raised, a
new aerodynamically efficient hull, and at single lever
retract system. The
airframe, wings and tail section use altogether aluminum
construction, covered in dacron sailcloth. The Buccaneer SX
has a double surfaced wing, with full span ailerons.
Controls are standard stick and rudder, with a left hand
throttle. Those single lever retract is located on the
right-hand side of the pilot. |

To retract the
landing gear the pilot pushes button on the retract
handle and pulls the handle rearwards, where it
locks into position. To reposition the gear the
pilot again pushes down on the retract button, which
allows the gear to move forward and lock into
position |
