Alright, alright... I'll admit it: I am a sucker for
aircraft which can "take you back in time"--and the Classic
definitely fits in that category.
Luckily, this open-cockpit biplane is as pleasing to the eye
as it is to fly. With a 66-hp Rotax engine, it will give
impressive performance... it is an aggressive and responsive
airplane. It is quick to react, partly because of full-span
ailerons and a semi-symmetrical airfoil.
The detachable-wing Classic is off the ground in as little
as 200 feet, climbs at somewhere between 900 and 1300 fpm
(depending upon how loaded down you have the thing), has a
VNE of 100 and cruises at a decent 80 mph. |

In addition, geodetic wood construction and additional
bracing empowers the Classic with notable structural
strength, enough to withstand higher G's than many light
planes.
A fairly short-winged airplane, it's only 22 feet from
wingtip to wing tip, length, 16 feet 9 inches; height 5 feet
11 inches. This classic taildragger is made of wood and
fabric and takes about 400 hours to build, however, a
quick-build option is available which can cut that estimated
time down to 250 hours.
Zoom Report: Just what the business needed...
a fun fifth for the Sunday flyer with room for a passenger.
Once again it's no Pitts or Eagle... but it is a very sedate
and dependable toy tool around the blue skies with.
Simple flight requirements are accompanied by very mild
ground handling. Cute, too!
