Manufacturer
The Jet Fox Amphib is the first Jet Fox to be mounted
with floats in the world.
The Jet Fox series of
aircraft are Italian designs and manufactured in Italy. In
the past they were
imported in the U.S. and built under the experimental 51%
kit rule.
Now with the implementation
of the light sport aircraft program the planes will be
certified by mid summer 2006 and will then available as
ready to fly aircraft. |

The kit uses aluminum bolt and
rivet together construction in both the wings and fuselage.
The fuselage is then surrounded with a glass enclosure for
added strength, aerodynamics and looks. The wings and tail
surfaces are covered in conventional aircraft fabric.
Power is being supplied by the
Rotax 912 S 100 HP 4 cylinder Rotax engine. According the
John Hunter "the Jet Fox Amphib can get off the water with
two people, and a light wind in less than 300 feet, with a
climb rate of 800 feet per minute." Cruise comes in at
around 95 mph. with a fuel burn close to 5 gallons per hour.
Range with fuel on board is approximately 300 miles.
Controls are standard stick
and rudder with dual stick, rudder pedals and throttles.
Electric flaps, trim,
and hydraulic brakes are standard. Options available include
various additional avionics, paint, interior packages and a
BRS parachute system.
The factory has recently
moved into a new $10,000,000 facility and production is
expected to be up to 20 aircraft per month by mid 2006.
Currently delivery times on aircraft are 4 to 6 months. To
date the factory has delivered over 300 aircraft to
customers world wide, with 4 of those flying in the U.S. |
