Rotax 582 rad cap and vent advisory
Rotax has updated the radiator cap
used on all of their two stroke and 4 stroke engines. The
old radiator caps had a pressure rating of approximately 14
lbs.
The new radiator caps have a pressure rating of nearly 18
lbs. This update helps prevent premature radiator cap
venting. |

Other things you should be
aware of are that the coolant used in the Rotax engine must
be aluminum compatible, and silicate free. If mixing your
own coolant mix the solution 50-50 using distilled water.
If your craft has EVANS coolant in it you
MUST replace it with EVANS coolant you can not add
anti-freeze of water to it. |
If using EVANS coolant you CAN NOT add
water to the system!
YOU MUST refill with EVANS COOLANT! |
