Light Sport Aircraft Pilot is a directory of aircraft that generally fit
into what are described as ultralight aircraft, advanced ultralight

aircraft, amateur built aircraft, ELSA or homebuilt
aircraft in the United States and Canada. These include
weight shift aircraft, more commonly known as trikes,
powered parachutes, and powered para-gliders.

single seat ultralight designed and built in the United States by Bill Sadler in
the early 80's.
The Vampire is a very unique looking ultralight aircraft, especially at the
time it entered the market. It a very futuristic look to it. |

The design features a mid-wing cantilever
metal wing, with twin tail booms running to the tail. It
features standard three axis controls. The Sadler Vampire
is a pusher, with a tricycle landing gear. The pilot sits in
a pod in front of the engine on the center line of leading
edge of the wing. The Vampire won the Grand Champion Design
at Airventure 1982. Sadler started production of the Vampire
in 1984 as American Microflight which later became Sadler
Aircraft Company. |
