Manufacturer - Airdrome Aeroplanes

Over the last 12 years Airdrome Aeroplanes has been producing WW 1 replica kits for the light plane market. Over that time they have delivered over 250 kits with some 75 currently flying.

This year Robert Baslee owner of Airdrome Aeroplanes introduced his latest design to the flying public, the Fokker D 7. The D 7 is an 80% replica powered by a Hirth 110 hose power engine.

The craft is being supplied as a quick build kit which should take the average builder about 200 hours to complete. All of the fabrication, welding etc is done at the factory so that the customer needs only basic skills to build the plane.

The kit is a T6 6061 aluminum kit, which is riveted together. The wing uses tube spars and aluminum ribs. Covering is standard aircraft covering materials. With each kit the builder is supplied with a comprehensive manual, and a video that starts at building the table that will be used to build the plane on, through the entire building, covering, painting and rigging process.

The plane once completed stalls at 35 mph, cruises comfortably at 80 mph and climbs out at just over 1,000 feet per minute.
