Designed and prototyped in 1989 the 12 received , the test pilot?s comment was that: ?It?s a Cream Puff?. At Oshkosh ?90, it took 3rd place in the light plane category.

The 12 is constructed of the same materials as the Nieuport 11 with the exception of the main wing spars which are formed sheet.

The 12 is a 2 place ideal for lazy afternoons and first time airplane rides. It is very stable as the original, which was designed to be a photo recon plane.

Recommended power plant is the ROTEC R2800 or Rotax 582. Construction is fabric covered tube structure, pull riveted gussets and AN bolts. Plans are oriented to the experienced builder with little instruction needed. Videos are available of Building procedures 4 hrs (sorry poor picture quality) as well as a flight preview video (2 hours).

The NIEUPORT 12 is a WW 1, - 7/8 scale replica bi- plane, designed by Graham Lee. The craft can be built from a set of plans or from a raw materials kit.

Building times will range from 1000 to 2000 hours depending on how the plane is being constructed. The plane can be powered by engines as small as the 52 HP Rotax 503 to the Rotax 912. Other engines that have been used successfully include car and motorcycle conversions.

A T.U.F. VIEW
The NIEUPORT 12 is a tandem seating, tractor configuration WW 1 7/8 scale Bi Plane. Controls are standard stick and rudder.

When powered by 65 HP, (Rotax 503 not really enough power) at gross, it will climb out at 600 feet per minute, and cruise in the 75 m.p.h. range. It is a rather large aircraft with lots of leg room and very docile handling. Stall speed is down around 35 m.p.h.

A real eye pleaser and attention grabber when finished off nicely.
