Rollison Light Sport Aircraft was at Sun N Fun 2008 with their all new tail
dragger EuroFox. According to Chris Bailey the craft on display is the
third unit to be imported into the U.S.
The plane has been available in
both a tri-cycle gear and tail dragger in Europe for a number of years.
Rollison had both a tail dragger and a tri-cycle gear on display in
yellow which is also the first time time that the craft has been
available in that colour. The EuroFox has been produced since 1990 and
the units on display were serial number 250 and 251.
The planes are all hand built, but a staff of 30. The factory limits
it's production to four aircraft per month. Two of which go to the rest
of the world and two are imported by Rollison, who then sells them
directly to the public, saving customers about 10% on the price of the
craft.
The craft features a 4130 chromoly steel fuselage, covered in
standard aircraft covering material. Controls are standard stick and
rudder with dual sticks. The tail dragger features toe brakes while the
tri-cycle gear has a hand brake.
The plane comes with a Rotax 912 engine, cruises in the 100
plus mph range, climbs out at over 1,000 feet per minute and has a range of 600
miles. The plane comes with cabin vents located on the upper dash for
ventilation and has a push pull tube which opens a cabin door to supply
heat.
Seat adjustment for individual pilot size is through a number of
detachable seat cushions.
The EuroFox also features folding wings as a standard feature.
