So if you are looking for an all metal low wing you could pretty well see everything that is offered in the LSA category at this years Midwest LSA show.

Four light sport aircraft that fit the bill are the RANS S19, the Evektar Sportstar, the Breezer II, and the RV12.

Another thing they have in common is that they are all side by side seating, with dual stick controls, featuring tricycle landing gear, in a tractor configuration.

They are all also powered by the Rotax 912 100 HP aircraft engine. All four also have wide comfortable cockpits equipped with sliding canopies which provide excellent visibility.

The Breezer II is manufactured in Germany available as and LSA, the Evektor SportStar in the Czech Republic available as an LSA, with the RANS S19 available as an LSA, ELSA or Experimental Amateurbuilt  and RV 12 manufactured in the United States available as a ELSA or Experimental Amateurbuilt.

VANS aircraft manufacturers of the RV 12, has produced over 7,000 kits of all models and is considered to be one of the largest aircraft kit manufacturers in the world. RANS aircraft manufacturers of the RANS S19 has delivered over 4500 aircraft of all models to customers since they began production of ultralight and experimental aircraft in the early 80's. The Breezer II has been flying since 2000 and with most of it's sales in Europe, the SportStar was the very first lightsport aircraft to certified in the United States, and is one of the top ranking aircraft in a recent market survey.

On two aircraft the Breezer II and the RV 12 the pilot enters the plane from the front of the wing, while on the RANS S19 and the SportStar entry is from the rear of the wing. Steering on the ground is via a castering nosewheel and brakes on the RV12, RANS S19, while the Breezer and Evektor have steerable nosewheels.
