aircraft
ICP of Italy,
manufacturers of the Savannah line of light sport aircraft
have appointed Valter della Nebbia of I.C.P. Aviation North
America as new distributors for the Savannah Aircraft in the
U.S.
I.C.P. Aviation North America will be importing full built
kits from Italy in containers with the wings removed. They
will then reassemble them at their facility in near Witchita
Falls Texas, about 100 miles north of Dallas.
The Savannah S is an all metal side by side seating aircraft
in a tri-cycle gear configuration. It was designed as a
STOHL, or short take off and landing aircraft.
The Savannah S
uses a very unique wing design, equipped with vortex
generators. This gives the craft a cruise of over 110 mph
and yet still has a very low stall speed, with full flap of
30 mph.The Savannah S has a sleek new aerodynamic nose cowl
which contributes to the faster cruising speed. Other
changes include a more "rounded" fuselage, and tail section
which helps the craft move through the air easier. Power is
supplied by the Rotax 912 ULS, 100 HP engine.
Currently I.C.P. Aviation North America indicates that a
basic ready to fly aircraft, certified to the U.S. ASTM
light sport aircraft standardard, will sell for
approximately $70,000.00 U.S.
