While
wandering around Sun N Fun 2011 I came across a plane that
somehow looked familiar, but I just couldn't put my finger
on why.
The plane looked a lot like a Skyranger. A little
journalistic investigation revealed that was because if is
being produced by the same people that make the Skyranger.
The new plane from Best Off Aircraft is called the NYNJA.

It is a side by side
seating two place, in a tractor configuration, with a center
mounted stick, (with a dual stick option) flaps, dual rudder
pedals, and a steerable nosewheel.
The plane uses bolt and
rivet together aluminum tube construction, using on straight
aluminum tubing. No special tools are required to build the
plane, and all the jigging and fiberglass work is done at
the factory.
The fuselage unlike the Skyranger which was covered in
dacron sail cloth, is covered with glass and carbon fiber
materials.
The NYNJA on display was the first aircraft imported into
the U.S. It took approximately 250 hours over two months to
complete. Power used on the NYNJA is the Rotax 912S 100 HP
four stroke aircraft engine. The factory reports a cruise of
around 110 mph, a stall of 42, and a climb rate over 1500
feet per minute.
