AirSled PowerChutes of Illinois had their Air
Sled on display at Sun N Fun. The AirSled features a Kevlar
reinforced fiberglass pilot enclosure.
The fuselage is welded 4130
chromoly steel, and is powder coated, with a number of colours
available. The control system is very unique for a PPC in that it
uses electric steering, that is a pilot pushes the right side of the
rocker switch to go
right or the left to go left. This allows the pilot to trim his AirSled
when flying, which with no foot control pressure, makes for a relaxing
flight.
The Airsled comes ready to fly with the EIS engine information system,
an aviation radio, with a GPS navigation system and an iPod digital music
source and Pilot information system, intercom and headsets, and an
electronic fuel gauge. |

The iPod is loaded with, the Pilot Operating Handbook, Owner's Manual,
Engine Maintenance Schedule, Pre Flight Check List, Visual Flight Rules,
FARs, Weather Basics, Radio and GPS Procedures. It is also loaded
with the AirSled starting and landing procedures and engine
warning alarms play directly through the headset.
