According to John Graber one of the three new owners of the TEAM
aircraft line the company is now set up and producing kits for the
ultralight market.
The new company JDT Mini-Max will be concentrating on
the part 103 legal line of aircraft in the U.S. but will also be offering
kits for the amateur/built experimental category builder.
The Hirth F 33
engine will be replacing the Rotax 277 in the Part 103 legal aircraft to
meet the current weight and speed limits.
The Rotax 447 can be used in the
same airframe but will not meet the current requirements for a legal
ultralight, and thus will require an N number and a pilots license.

|
The same models with also be offered with the Rotax 503 engine but
these models will require stronger spars etc due to the extra speeds and
loads.
The complete line of JDT aircraft are built from wood, and can be built
from kits, or from plans. The kits take between 200 and 400 hours to
complete and require no special tools other than a belt sander and table
saw. The kits come complete with everything the builder needs, except for
fabric, engine and paint.
