Sky cycle nano trike, from GT ultralights

The Lookout Mountain "nanolight trike" SkyCycle has been undergoing a steady "updating" program since first introduced in 1997.

This rugged little light weight trike, (the trike weighs only 98 lbs) is designed for use with regular hang glider wings.

The pilot uses the engine to get into thermal activity, shuts the engine off and turns his/her craft into a glider. Back on the ground the glider and trike can be folded up to transport back home, saving hangar costs.

No pilot's license, medical, or aircraft annual, is required to fly it in the U.S. because with it's light weight it is a legal 103 ultralight.

Three models of the Skycycle are now available the Skycycle, the Skycycle S, and the Skycycle Extra Light.

The Skycycle is powered by a MZ 34 28  HP 2 stroke engine using a belt reduction drive spinning a inch 54 propeller. With a standard hang glider wing climb comes in at 500 feet per minute, take off distance is less than 100 feet, and it can fly for 2 hours at a speed between 25 and 55 mph with the fuel on board.

The Skycycle Xtralight is powered by the MZ 100, 18 HP single cylinder engine and has a total weight for engine and Below is a web video interview

airframe of only 75 lbs. making it an "optimal soaring machine"

The Skycycle Super
This is the heavy duty hot rod package, it features the 340 Kawasaki 32 HP engine and cruises the skies between 25 and 63 mph.

Suspension is provided by a 4130 steel landing gear and large tires, controls are stand trike style, with ground steering via foot pedals connected to the front wheel.

Options include electric start, a fairing package, front fender, wheel pants, front pod, BRS chute, and various sizes of fuel tanks.
