According to Frederick the success of the
Predator can be traced to it's strength, ease of operation, low operating costs,
easy entry and exit and it's stability both on the ground and in the air. Part
of the stability is because of the attachment system for the chute which was
originally designed by NASA.
The unit uses a single center mounted stick for
ground steering and throttle control. In the air and on the ground it can be
controlled with only one hand. Flight controls for steering are standard side
control bars with push left to go left, and push right to go right controls. The
fuel tank is located on the center of gravity, below the rear seat which is
elevated.
Suspension is provided by a set of two beefy
shock absorbers located on each side of the craft, which allow for over 5 inches
of travel. The unit is also great for the physically disabled, or elderly
because of it's ease of entry and exit, with no bars or control systems impeding
the way.
The Predator is available as an SLSA, ELSA, and
will be available in a kit form in the near future. Currently the Predator is
available with the Rotax 582, Rotax 912 80 HP, or Rotax 912 S 100 HP engines.
A dealer network is in place for the
Predator, with dealers currently located in Wichita
Kansas, Indianapolis, Dallas, and Los Vegas. The Predator
will also be featured on a number of upcoming episodes of
"Home Field" on the Discovery Channel. Currently two
episodes have been shot with fourteen more in the works.
